The reason for Cain killing Abel was different from what the Bible stated. Cain killed Abel out of jealousy.

ArriettyClock wrote: 02 Jun 2020, 07:29 As the Book of Genesis doesn't actually specify a reason for Cain killing Abel, do you think that the motives in this novel were portrayed in the correct way? Should there have been more specified motives in this book, or do you think it would have been best to leave absolutely no motive?
The book of Genesis does specify the reason cain killed abel. God chose Abel's offering and not Cain's. I am actually surprised that it was not mentioned. He talked a lot about the sacrifice offered by Cain and the sacrifice offered by Abel. I am surprised he didn't mention it. In the Bible God felt Abel's sacrifice was more genuine and ignored Cain's. It made Cain angry.

Yeah though I experienced some deviation and exaggeration while reading.

The Bible specified the motive why Cain killed his brother Abel. What ever the motive is the author had written we should know it was just his imaginations. The Bible still remains the foundation of the real truth.

I agree with the author's Jealous description. The Bible did not pinpoint it, but with the description, it gave one could say it was jealously.

To me it does not really matter how it is explained, the root of the matter in the Bible and in the book was jealousy and it was explained in both books as the root of the strife between Cain and Abel.

The Bible clearly stated that the reason Cain killed Abel was due to jealousy when his sacrifice was rejected and Abel's was accepted.

According to the Bible,Cain killed Abel because of jealousy, he was jealous that God collected his brother's sacrifice but rejected his own. The motive in the book is not twisted either, they are both pointing to jealousy.

Exactly. The book portrays Cain's jealousy as the reason, just like in the Bible.

I think the novel came from a different perspective, but it was clearly stated that it was because of jealousy in the Bible. Well it's just a fiction

I don't know if there is a correct way to portray it. Killing Abel has certainly taken an interesting approach and I appreciated it. Especially towards the end.

The bible was clear that Cain killed Abel because of jealousy, and the book gave reference to this scripture. But I have to admit that in the book, the writer did not really portray this part perfectly well.
