A historical fiction with a collection of Indian stories sounds very informative. Also this reviews shows how the book talked about immigrants faced with kidnap & slavery. I think I'll enjoy reading this one. Good review

I like the intertwining of the characters' lives. However, historical fiction has to be particularly special to pull me in. I'm not sure this one would do that. Thanks, though.

Sounds like some intricately developed stories and characters with some powerful messages about injustice. Stories like this are great at bringing out strong emotions in their readers. Excellent review!

This is a Historical fiction novel of early immigrants and the political and cultural change of the early British. The book is temporarily free on Amazon Kindle and has an inciteful OnlineBookClub review. I rated the book 4 out of 4 stars. Congrats @GhoshBiku on being the BOTD.

A historical fiction revolving around racism and Indian immigrants in the UK sounds intense. It is refreshing that the stories are told from the perspective of the Indian immigrants. That it was well edited and educational is another plus. Thank you for the review!

I found this historical fiction collection to be well-written and educational. The author did an excellent job of using well-developed characters to show the story versus telling it. Despite the intensity related to the subject matter, the author managed to keep the reader engaged while shedding light on harsh injustices. Additionally, he maintained a sense of balance through the close family relationships conveyed through the stories.

I find that this is hard to manage for authors sometimes. Approaching a difficult issue while still keeping the story interesting and engaging can be challenging and I'm glad you pointed it out.
I enjoy history very much and I like the idea of the stories intertwining. Great review, thanks!

Your review was really interesting, and I downloaded my free copy - thank you! I, too, am not a big history buff, but I enjoy learning about other cultures and countries, and I enjoy reading stories with well-developed characters. Today's historical fiction BOTD is one I plan to read. Hopefully, it will allow me to gain perspective of the people and time period. Thank you, again! :-)

Sounds insightful! Not only it takes us back in time, but it also paints a different picture. Indian immigrant movement for a better life is not only limited to one country, but a soaring problem in every third world country. Thank you for pointing that out!

I don't think historical fiction books are for me. However, I might be interested in reading up on Indian culture.

I felt a bit intimidated by the historical aspect of this book when I downloaded it, but after reading this review I feel it will be a book that I can thoroughly enjoy despite not being a history buff. Thank you for the review and for the suggestion to read the glossary of terms before starting the book!

It was quite surprising to know that Indian immigrants faced a lot of problems in Britain in the era spanning from 1710-2016. The author did his best to highlight the issues of Indian immigrants right from the past to the present modern period.

"Indian Immigrant" by Biku Ghosh is a historical book that I would love to read about even though am not a big fan of this type of genre. I understand perfectly what the author means by "They always hoped that they would break out of the cycle and in the end, they did not but stayed on to make the most of it. They were indentured to the system." That is just the usual journey of all immigrants. Only a few immigrants break free from this circle.
Thank you so much, Cecilia_L, for this insightful review. It definitely makes me want to read more.

This sounds like a great read for fans of historical fiction, stories about other cultures and the struggles that immigrants face and have faced for over 300 years. Congratulations to the author on a terrific review. Thanks so much for sharing.
