The descriptions given for each book are quite interesting and I would like to read all the four books :)

I've read them all except The Catcher in the Rye, but it is on my to be read list. I loved Farenheight 451.

Those are indeed great books, and I would also think that Dorian Gray is an awesome book, since it explores many themes, such as hedonism, morality and ethics.

I have read other classics including Frankenstein, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, Hard Times and several others. These four are the next in my reading list.

I haven't read any of those four books but I do read classics.
My favorite ones are -
The Mayor of Casterbridge by Thomas Hardy - It got better and better with each read.
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo - Just heartbreaking.
The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas - So much about life to learn from this book!
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain - It brings back nostalgia and is fun!

I loved the first two but never read the last two. I guess I must read them as soon as possible...

I’ve heard of all but one of these books. From the descriptions given, they seem like very interesting and meaningful reads. I should read them when I have the chance. I have read other classics (like Shelley’s Frankenstein) and I thoroughly enjoyed them, so I will probably like these too.

I've read two of these: 'Of Mice and Men' and 'The Catcher in the Rye'. I loved the first but wasn't too interested in the second. I can't wait to read the other two on this list though.

1984 is the BEST book ever! I loved it so much! I never read books more than once, but this book I can never get tired of! I have not read The Catcher in the Rye yet. I will add it to my list!

Catcher in The Rye and 1984 are still on my TBR :(((( but my 4 most great classic books are: Pride and Prejudice, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Romeo and Juliet, and The Death of the Heart by Elizabeth Bowen!

I definitely agree with 3 of these 4 books being “must reads” but “Catcher in the Rye” should not be on the same list my opinion. It’s definitely worth reading but it doesn’t even begin to compare to the other 3 in terms of greatness. I will admit that it is possible that I am biased because of how hyped up I was to read it in the first place. It had always been touted as a bad influence due to the number of curse words in it and part of me thinks that if those curse words had not been in it, it likely would have been just another good book instead of a great book. There are several books that I would absolutely have included instead of Catcher. “Animal Farm” by George Orwell, “Cat’s Cradle” by Kurt Vonnegut, “Childhood’s End” by Arthur C. Clark, “The Giver” by Lois Lowry, “The Man in the High Castle” by Philip K Dick, “Blindness” by Jose Saramago, “A Case or Conscious” by James Blish, and “Ender’s Game” (the whole series actually) by Orson Scott Card are all far greater books.
