Abuse, psychological or physical leaves some really deep scars in children especially if they influence one in their adult lives. I may just read the book to get another perspective on interacting with victims of abuse.

Based on the review I am not sure if this would be a book that I would enjoy reading. I think that it is interesting to read about an immigrant family who tries to settle in America and the struggles that they face. I do not like the psychological, physical, or sexual abuse that is in the story.

It really is true that psychological abuse finds a way to affect the future of the victim's children. I'm sorry Lucia and her family had to go through all they did. I don't think this is for me at the moment because I don't want to read sad stories. Thanks for the review.
