Worthless Superpowers was written by Shaalin Tandon, a writer from India. The book is science fiction.
One of the precious natures of humans that we enjoy is our freedom. The liberty to move and be whoever you want is one of the privileges. This right of freedom can shape one’s destiny. Some people believe that our destinies are predetermined; others have the opinion that we shape our destinies by our deliberate choices in life.
In this story, we are introduced to the stunning model Lara, whose real name was Lata at birth. At seventeen, she had a romance with Raju and ended up becoming pregnant. She grew up in a village but decided to leave the village with her lover and seek better opportunities elsewhere. She felt her beauty would waste away and become undervalued in her locality. However, pregnant Lara was abandoned by her sweetheart. This builds the series of events that follow in this story. Read the book to find out what happened to the child after birth.
There are some parts I liked about this story. I admired the care which Mai showed to Lara when she was abandoned by Raju. Another thing I appreciated was how Lara the star became a workhorse. She built a solid career, earning thousands of rupees later on. One shocking thing that came from her was, 'This is my life, and I live it on my own terms.’ Other characters include Ishaan, Naina, Neehlam, Diya, Avi, and Dev. Notably, Ishaan had a special gift. He could foretell things. In addition, I liked the connections among the children (Bhavya and Ishwar). This happened in India, and there were dialogues with a reflective tone in the book.
For its interesting characters, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. Moreover, there were no distracting grammatical errors noticed during my reading, and I did not find faults in the book, nor did I dislike any parts.
