Hi, Reading Rebecca! It's been a while. I'm glad you had a good comeback piece. I know we are all blessed with mercy, however difficult our lives may be.

While divorce is not legal in my country yet, separations are becoming common. Two of my brothers are separated. The pain of a failed marriage is heartrending; does one afflicted ever heal? I feel for Carly.

Wow, I did not know it was still illegal in places. Separation in any form is very painful. I'm sorry they had to go through that.

Thank you. Mercy looked like the book for me. I was not disappointed. It's good to see you are still around!

The descriptions of painting sound interesting to me. Is the pacing slow? I cannot imagine this is a super face-paced plot inclusion. Thanks for this review!

Hi, NL. There are parts where the book is slower, for example the development of Carly's romantic relationship. But it makes sense because she is dealing with so much else in her life. For me, the pacing was fine. There was enough interesting stuff going on that it did not feel draggy. When her relationship was at a pause, there would be some new development with her father who had walked out on her as a child, for example.

It is interesting how life is written in this book. It seems that a friend is telling her story. Very original.
