I just read the sample and ultimately decided that this particular book is "not my thing," so to speak, but I agree about the descriptiveness being just right. I was engrossed from the first page because of the interesting turns of phrase that the author uses to describe the places and people. Great review!

Thanks for the review. While it sounds like an interesting and appropriate book for its target audience (especially if it has well-achieved characters), I believe that the premise and the genre simply are not my thing.

Thanks for your review. I am looking forward to reading about Izzy. I am not sure what the story is really about, but I will give it a try.

Now I'm very excited about this one! Hoping a rainy day comes soon so I have an excuse to put aside the rest of my to-read list and give this one a look. A truly layered protagonist always makes a compelling read for me, so your description of Izzie sounds like just what I need from a novel.

I would love to know if Jim's therapy sessions enabled him to get rid of his problem and how the outcome affected his relationship with Izzy. I must say the author seems to have done a good job in developing his characters. I am adding the book to my to-read list. Thanks.

Thanks for your review! I'm still deciding if I want to finish the novel as it doesn't really fall into a genre that I enjoy. Luckily winter break is around the corner, then I'll take a day to visit Izzy in Scotland via my imagination and the pages of Small Change!

Small Change seems to an easy read. Not too complex, yet with enough variety to keep it interesting. I am curious to see how Izzy handles all the choices that life is presenting her.

Nice job on the review.

At first, this novel seemed like a tried and true (but possibly overdone) plot line: stale marriage, spicy flirtation, impending break up (or not). However, the idea that the husband’s counseling is interwoven into the story adds depth to the novel. You can never take a person at face value, so why do we so often let ourselves do so with characters?

This is a must read fiction and the woman Izzy Campbell has to rewarded for his sacrifice for his son sake. I like how adventurous Izzy Campbell is in the story after he left his husband to explore what society has to offer him and the character Jim in the fiction is really bad. This author is very captivating I will say. Thanks for such a great review.

I really enjoy your reviews. I can always count on a interesting, detailed-filled analysis of the characters, plot and your take on what the author tried to narrate in their books. This is no exception. I love the in-depth picture that you have captured of the characters, which makes them easy to relate to. I can't wait to start reading this book. I'll let you know how I feel after my read.

Thank you for the review. I read the first two chapters and just could not get into it. After reading your review, I decided that it is not a book for me. It must have been a hard review to do but you did a good job.
