The premise of this book is really interesting--ice hockey is not usually something I'd read about, but this story seems to have put an interesting twist on it :) It's just a shame about the stilted dialogue and less-than-stellar pacing of events.

Thank you for your detailed review of this book, it was very thorough!

While I gave the book a lukewarm rating, I will say that I’m enjoying the Stanley Cup playoffs a whole lot more because I read it.

I keep thinking about the review I wrote for this book. It has stuck with me for so long that I almost regret rating it as low as I did. While the technical writing wasn't stellar, I just can't get the plot out of my head.

I'm glad there is a satisfying balance of on the ice action and Cole's personal life.It would make this book an interesting read.

I have never heard about an enforcer in Ice hockey before, but I'm not big on the sport either. It does sound like an intriguing role. It's also very interesting how the author parallel's this role with the character's vulnerability. It's tragic to think he turned to these drugs to help him cope with his role on the team as well as life. I agree with your rating. Thanks for your thoughts.
