There are many enlightening information contains in this book about immigration. One such issue is that of the cultural shock that faces many immigrants. This shock is so invasive that it sometimes even leads to the development of mental issues.

There are many enlightening information contains in this book about immigration. One such issue is that of the cultural shock that faces many immigrants. This shock is so invasive that it sometimes even leads to the development of mental issues.

This is why I find it so fascinating to read about the different ways of coping with cultural shock and its effects. Ramiro is overwhelmed by what life in America means. He never fully adjusts to his new life. Only his children will see things from another perspective.

This seems like a very good book detailing immigration and other struggles in life. I also liked that the lead character, Ramiro, is not the typical hero-type and also has his own flaws which makes him more believable. I will definitely add this to my reading list. Thanks for the review
