What a beautifully written review about such a sorrowful event/series of events. Thank you for sharing, this one goes to the next book in the queue for me.

Moving. That's all I can say about this book. It's worth all of our time. (Plus it's super short.)

I really enjoyed your review. Very well done. I don't normally read books that are about this subject but I might add this one to my list.

Forty years ago, the Iranian clerics launched a revolution to bring down the Peacock throne of the Shah of Iran today the same sentiment to uproot the present religious autocracy is rife among the Iranian masses.

This question is often asked " why does the Iranian government continue to hide the atrocities committed by Muslim clerics against those who supported the former government up to now?

The answer is that doers of evil hide their deeds because they cannot weaken their own position. The lonely task of unearthing evil secrets cannot be relegated to perpetrators.

This task of ferreting out the truth falls upon the members of the Fourth Estate and bookwriters. There is a season for planting; and a season for gathering; there is a season for building and a season for destroying; there is a season for meryy making and a season for grieving.

In Iran, the season of uprooting and vengeance has returned.

Thank you for your learned and inspirational response. I personally cringe when I think of the added death likely to come in any pending upheaval of the supreme regime. My heart goes out to the citizens.

Thanks for your thoughtful review. I have known that Iran has a brutal regime and this book sheds more light on the toll of human suffering in that nation.

Thank you again for this review. I read the book this morning. I agree with you, it's quite moving. I enjoyed how the author incorporated animals into the stories, allowing them to show significance of some of the different events. Again, nice job.
