The book Comfort in the Wings by Jennifer Collins is about a woman named Larissa who grieves about the loss of a family member. Because of this loss, Larissa reflects on her past choices and wonders if those choices were the right choice to make. After the loss, Larissa decides to take some time for herself away from work and friends. She travels to a place where her family would go to visit in the past. She chooses this location because it reminds her of the happy memories that existed there. She believes that this town will help her forget the loss she has endured and the past choices she made. On her journey, she encounters many people who also relate to losing a loved one. These people give her different ideas on how to deal with the loss of a loved one. Some of these include walking, going to support groups, or seeing a medium. Throughout the book, Larissa is conflicted, but later finds herself feeling relieved by the advice that people give her.
Overall, I give this book a rating of 4 out of 5. I did not give the book a higher rating because I thought the beginning of the book was a bit slow. Other than that, I thought the book was entertaining to read. I did not find any misspelled words or grammatical errors. The writing was very clear and easy to understand. I thought the author did an amazing job on explaining the process of grief and the challenges of being a mother. I did like that the book was written from the author’s experiences. This made the story very personal, and I feel that this book would be helpful to those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. I would recommend this book to those who need advice or comfort due to the sudden death of a family member. This book goes into detail on how one goes through different stages of grief and ways to help relieve stress and pain from the passing of a family member.
