Molly is a Combat Camera Marine serving in Afghanistan. The story begins with Molly recovering in hospital. Another wounded soldier is showing Molly pictures perhaps in the hope of jogging some of her memories. The book goes back to Molly’s younger years.

Molly’s mother Donna is a teacher and she had thought that her daughter would go to art school but after graduation, Molly decided she wanted to become a Marine. From what I have read so far, this seems to be a contentious topic for them both.

The story does jump around as it starts to weave pieces of Molly's life together, but like the reviewer I felt it added a touch of mystery.

Apart from revealing some of the harsh realities of military life this is a human story that is likely to keep the reader engaged.

Since we have a retired female marine in the family, this book caught my eye, and your positive review convinced me to add it to my shelves! Congrats BOTD!

Thanks for the review, but I have zero interest in reading about anyone in the marines (or the military, period), let alone a former pageant-contending female.

A beautiful model suddenly joins the Marines! That would really make a great story. And the way you describes the style of writing makes me really want to read this! Thanks for your review!

I can't think of myself as a person who would be interested in military chicks and their life but your review makes me think that they are just like us. I can totally relate when you wrote at the beginning of your review that she was trained to be in a beauty pageant and she opted for marines. talk about a change of scenario. after reading your review I want to read the book for myself as I am intrigued about how can a girl opt for marine after being raised by such a mother.. is there any romance in it? I am a fan of romantic fiction. :D

This book seems to have all the right attributes and it's clear you really enjoyed it! I'm glad the focus is not on military issues as I definitely would not enjoy that. As it is, I might just give this a try. Thanks for a most enjoyable and informative review.

Sounds like a great book. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it so much since this means the author has done a great job in writing this book. Also, I'm greatly satisfied about this book having a female protagonist who is strong enough to follow her dreams even if it's against her mother's expectations.

Such an intriguing book. I love the idea of seeing the Marines from a woman's point of view and so I will add Model Marine to my to read list. Great review!

That's great that there isn't any grammar errors. I am curious why she decided to join the Marines. Thank you for the review.

I love how this military novel focuses on the specific soldier and her family, not war conflict. I'm rooting for the Monroe family!

The storyline of the story is quite interesting. I think I want to find out more about this story. The grammar and the sentences is very good. In the story, it's always have many sentences to describe something.

After reading your review I am very excited to start reading this book! I was a Marine wife for 8 years and would love to read about the experiences of a woman Marine.
