Review of The Maple Seed Helicopter
I love the characters of George, Marco, and Dario. They were children, but they believed in a better life than the one they experienced at the orphanage; they didn't want to go through the experience of staying in the camp of the German soldiers who captured them; this prompted them to leave. Though it was a dangerous journey, they still found what they were looking for—and that's a family. This shows determination on their part, and it grew in the life of Marco. As an adult, he is inspired to explore the world and know more about the human race. Even with the terrible experiences he went through in his journey, he still made it to the end and was able to discover more about life's realities. He came to know about the primary source of human problems, and that is "that people don't treat each other the way they want to be treated.
I have no dislikes for this book; the message is well passed, and I learned several lessons. Domenico and his wife's training helped the children get rid of their toxic experiences during the war and the terrible condition of the orphanage. His teachings about life, telling them to be selfless and help each other, made them grow up learning lots of lessons about life. That's good parenting skills on the part of this couple. Because I am a Christian, I love that the book talks about good Christian virtues and our belief in God. A well-edited and error-free book. I will recommend this book to all historical fiction lovers and also to those who can read a book that talks about the Christian God. I will give it a 5 out of 5 star rating for its excellent writing style.
