Thanks for the review. While the theme of religion and the role of women in society sounds interesting, coming of age stories are not usually my thing, even if the story has time for some humor, which is why I won't read it.

I am usually open-minded about this kind of things but it being a religious satire is something I wouldn't read or could be a bit intolerable for me. Thanks for putting in the review about how it might offend some people.

The author takes a light-hearted approach to the Catholic faith through the eyes of a child. Those raised in strict Christian homes will probably laugh along because we get it. Bridget’s forthright reverence for the crucifix and her fear of Satan manifested were very well told. Even her matter of fact way of describing her parents’ fighting is totally believable. Well done to the author. The four stars are well earned.

I read a few of the pages from the book, and though I tend not to read many books regarding any hot topic, this one actually appeals to me. I come from a christian household, so I have no background to Catholicism, and I am hoping this book sheds some light on it. Thank you for the review!

I kind of love the idea of a dark yet Catholic version of Anne Shirley. :) Thanks for this thoughtful review!

Thank you for your honesty and being blunt about what may appeal to the reader and what may not. As spiritual as I may be, I'm not religious and I believe I will enjoy the humor you refer to. I'm particularly looking forward to reading the content as written through a child's eyes as there won't be any cynicism from age. Thank you again for your review, this will be one of the next books I read!

'Official Review: Dodging Satan, by Kathleen Zamboni McCormic', contains all the important points related to the book! It well focuses on the theme of the book! The character sketch of 'Bridget', is what I like best about it!

I am a fan of satire, including religious satire, and the issues mentioned here are very important to me. I'm also glad to see that the typos have since been corrected as that seems to be the only part that would detract from my reading experience. I'll have to give this a try sometime. Thank you for the helpful review!

Based on this review this book sounds like a light hearted comedy, if the reader is not easily offended.

I like the sound of this, a child’s take on the contradictions and hypocrisy of religion. Dark or ironic humour also appeals to me, as I relate to it a lot from my own childhood. Thanks for your review!

Great review! Religious satire sounds interesting, though likely not for everyone. Congrats to the author on a 4-star review.
