Thanks for the great review! I, also, am curious about why your feelings for her changed throughout the book, from rooting for her to having mixed feelings about her. I suppose I will have to read the book to find out!

Thank you for such a wonderful review. Although it does contain content that makes you think it is like every other teenage book out there, the way the author portrays the characters and the plot tells you it is something completely different. I am adding this novel to my reading list and can't wait to learn more about Natalie and her journey through growing up.

Wow! I can’t imagine finding absolutely no flaws! I’m so anxious to read now - I have read many books in the teen genre; they should never be passed over. Many have intense subject matter and it’s good to know what our teens are reading. Thanks for a detailed review.

The character Natalie sounds like a strong-willed person. Strong wills can sometimes be positive as well as disastrous. This has certainly attracted my attention. I will, therefore, read this book in the future.

It sound like a very smooth and glowing review that make me want to read the book. I m a person that like to talk about human character. Talking about the stage of life for a person like Natalie make a story very clear about change in the behavior at every stage. Bravo for author and review.

A very detailed review, thank you. I do love a story that draws you in so completely that you actually feel the same emotions as the character. Generally I don’t read much from this genre, but this one does sound quite interesting.

I personally do not reading novels because those I read hardly grappled the complexity of life and relationships.

But you make this novel seem serious and fitting for adults as well as teens. I should check it out.

just started this book and already have enjoyed it. The book starts with the raw reality of the girls everyday life and family struggles. I like that it is first person narrated.

Thanks for the review, it's such a good story line in which both teens and adults has something to benefit from it.

is a great one I am really interested toward this word
Natalie yearns, and strives, for nothing but a good, happy life. She wishes for her abusive, alcoholic stepfather, Alex, to turn his life around and put her mother out of the constant misery that her life has become.
