Good review. I don't think this is one I'll read. Seems a little slow but I like action and mystery.

You had me at humour in the dialogue between Gary and Duke despite the serious problems they were facing. Quick question though, is the author writing about himself or it's just a name coincidence? Thanks for the review.

Great and precise review. The first few pages of the book I read really made me amped up. The book cover and title are beautiful but don't even give anything away about the story. I should be reading this soon.

Ths story is fictional but the author writes in honor of one of his friends who is a sword swallower. The story describes a relationship between them.

This is a very interesting book! I love the real and gritty characters who are well thought out and you care about despite their many flaws. The writing style is interesting and engaging and it draws you Inyo the story . It’s an interesting setting because the circus is allways full of dramatic and interesting characters .

I like that we first learn about the two characters separately and then they are brought together. A back story is always good. I'm curious though. As you mentioned religious issues, and one of the Amazon reviews mentioned Christianity, I'm wondering if this book has an overtly religious message. If you don't mind answering my question. Thanks...and thanks for your great insight on the book.

It sounds so captivating. I wanna know how the two characters met and influence each other. Also, I'm curious on how they change and develop. Even though there's a topic about alcohol and drugs, I still want to read it. The reason is that you deliver the review well and concisely.

This reminds me of the circus performers, doing stunts to amuse the audience. You might think the lives of these entertainers are all glitters and fun, but in their private time they are lonely, downing their sorrows in alcohol. Thus, the sword swallower has an alcohol problem, so too with the Chico Kid. This story is about the lives of these people, their struggles and their times. Thank you for your interesting review.
