I don't like reading about abuse, so I think that I will skip it. Thanks for your review.

This book is an overcoming story, about a kid who is creative in achieving his goal of becoming a musician. It’s a story about a mother who is dedicated to making her son’s life better. It’s about love and triumph over struggle. It’s a love story. It’s about an ordinary kid who works hard to achieve his dream.

It's a beautiful story that really moved me in my current situation, made me realise there is always hope despite hardships and circumstances.

Abuse is a big deal but if one has the courage to walk pass all that and be courageous enough to be strong and successful, then he/she is a real winner in life. This book is a good example not only related to a musician but to anyone who has such childhood issues. Great book successful detailed in a great review. Thank you for the details!

It's great when we find a book that we truly enjoy, despite the hard topics the book raises. Or perhaps it is because the book raises those hard topics that make it a "great read."
Life without a good book is something MrsCatInTheHat cannot imagine.

A coming of age tale about a young boy who aspires to be a musician against the wishes of his abuse father sounds hurt-tugging. It is great that the plot was well developed, well- edited, and well-paced. It is inspiring that he managed to become a great musician despite all odds. Thank you for the review!

This seems like a novel that would definitely be able to appeal to everyone, especially with the character development. I really enjoy character driven stories, so I'm glad I found your review. I can add this to my shelves. (:

I found this story to be a refreshing check on the reality of abuse and rated it 3 out of 4 stars. The onlinebookclub review of the book was written masterfully and was inciteful enough to make me suggest that readers should sample the reviews first.
