Even after hearing about the warnings for a sensitive soul, I can't help but wanting to read this book. This review is great!

Complex characters and an obvious familiarity with the criminal justice system should make for a great read. It’s not my usual genre, but finding a book as well-written as this seems is difficult.

The prison system the culture inside it has intrigued me in the last few months. I'll have to read this book while the curiosity is fresh.

The stark difference between what's ideal and what's real in our institutions, workplaces, communities or elsewhere in our lives could indeed be unacceptable at times. Yet I agree with you that those are truths, which need to be known to be dealt with.

Reading graphic details is not my idea of a leisurely read and, to be honest, I didn't give this a chance to land in my Want to Read list. Yet, you made the book seem worthy enough to be considered perhaps for academic or introspective purposes.

Thank you for such an impressive and compelling review.

A book about prison riots and hostage negotiation. Sounds like an interesting read with lots of action. I m tempted to read this, but I have my hands full now. I'll put this in my to-read list. Nice review.

This sounds like a suspenseful thriller I will have to check out. It sounds like it has some internal incite into the prison system that would be interesting to see. I might just have to check this one out. Thank you for the review.

The conditions in this prison are not different from those in my municipal prison in Cameroon. It is not strange that an uprising in such squalor will demand a negotiation with the inmates to avoid deaths and destruction.

In the 'Official Review: The Siege by James Hanna', the reviewer does a helpful piece of job, by making the story and theme clear to the readers! 'Tom is unsure whether to side with the guards, the prison administrators or with the other individual prisoners like Chester who may otherwise fall victim to the inevitable violence and mayhem of the siege'. The reviewer also warns the sensitive readers against the scenes of sex and violence, in the story!

Thanks for the review, it conveyed the suspenseful nature of the plot very accurately. I have long since learnt to associate Hanna's works with some unique glimpse into the justice system and criminal life. Even so, this plot will be completely new for me. I love that he has given us insights into the prison protocols, lives of the inmates and the mental state of the negotiator as he struggles to weigh his options.

Great review, you summarized the book really well without giving anything away which can be hard to do. Sounds like a great read even tho it’s not my normal area of interest I might have to give it go.
