Kudos for your review! I think it will be inserting. I only read a few pages. Based on your review, I am eager to see how the author weaves humor this story.

I have never really read political satire, but I immediately liked the sound of this book. I have become progressively more political in the past ten years, to the point that I know I would enjoy this. I'm thrilled to hear that it is also well-written. Nothing makes a foray into an previously untried genre better than a book that is written well. Thanks for your insight on the book.

While it sounds like a study terkel novel, it also sounds a bit political. I have no desire to read something like that.

This is a very thorough review! You make it sound like a good read, but I'm skeptical because it's so political. Although, I do like humor... I'll have to give this one some more consideration.

It's true the robots are coming. It is clear from your review that you really had fun when reading this book.
The review was very thorough, however, I just feel this is not my type of book.

I found this review losing my interest in the middle. With that being said it does make me want to read this book. The reviewer failed to mention any editing errors so there must not be any worth talking about.

Nice review though it was quite long. I rather read less of some events in the book. Nevertheless, I still underatand and liked the review.
Thanks for pinpointing what is the Piketty idea. I really had no idea.
I also like the subtitle of the robots are coming, the robots are coming. It is amusing and for some reason I can relate for some industry are developing AI for used instead of humans. This is for the purpose of lessening errors though it is still on debate.

The author has raised a very important issue of minimum wage and current surge to replace low paid workers with robots. Thanks for this comprehensive review.

I'm not going to lie, the cover almost put me off of this book because this image of Ronald McDonald kinda freaks me out. However, after reading this review I feel that I have to read it both as someone with curious mind towards politics and as a writer. The experimental prose sounds intriguing, and I'm glad to hear that the political and economic elements are woven into the narrative naturally. Thank you for the thorough and insightful review!

I enjoyed reading your review as much as the book itself! Well done.

I loved how Hallberg was already building his characters from the first lines:
The sun wasn't setting fast enough. Not for George Dealy.
He does such a great job of using tiny gestures and nuances in conversation to give you this incredibly thorough, effortless picture of each distinct character. For instance, when George referred to Hugo as "Europreppy", it immediately brought an image of Hugo to mind, but also in its disdain showed me more of George's defensive superiority.

Knowing the book's theme, I went into it expecting it to be heavily biased--however, while the author's side is always clear, he was far more fair than I expected. Though he clearly didn't agree with George, he allowed him to share his side of the story. I saw his faults but also his humanity.

A book for mature adults written in an engaging, a lively, and humorous way. I'm intrigued.
