Ashley Simon did say a lot about football - that a lineman is supposed to be more developed than what a lineman can rationally handle. Linemen are quiet men who know an incredible amount about the game. It's grunt work, and there is no prize waiting for them. Football linemen, I would argue, more or less are led into the life of being linemen due to their size and their ability to withstand the tortures of the trenches. The book is basically a 900-page book devoted to one main character whom the reviewer neglects to see as a lineman, but simply another character in a book that has to be well-rounded and sensitive enough to appeal to a woman's tastes. I really doubt that the reviewer knows anything about football or what a more realistic portrayal of what a lineman character has to endure. She did say a lot about football, though - that she knows nothing about it. A very disappointing review, and an ever greater disappointing reviewer.
