This sounds like an interesting read. Sometimes it's good to read something from a child's perspective. It keeps us humble. Great review!

Thanks Mary. Sometimes we don't really understand what goes on in a child's mind.

Your first sentences definitely the tone of what was to come, so I braced myself. I usually have a hard time reading books about abuse, so I think I'll give it a pass. Loved your review, however, kandscreeley.

This sounds like a very heart-wrenching book. It may be one that I'll give a try, but I'm still unsure because of the deep subject matter.

it is told in the first person perspective. We see events the way Julie views them; we are able to hear her thoughts. In a story of abuse such as this, it really helps us to understand the psychological aspect and i like this point which makes it strong

the things that I like about this story is that it is told in the first person perspective, which is great. We see events the way Julie views them
