I like when relationships are delved into on multifaceted levels. When love is portrayed just in a traditional sense, it can get boring. Great review

This book seems to interest with the combination of medical, law and religion. I am a fan of William. H. Coles after reading his "Guardian of Deceit" book. After reading your review, I am looking forward to read this book as well. Thanks for your review!

I like that the book looks at the complexity of relationships in many different ways. I'm interested in the book and I think I'll have to take a look at Coles' other works as well!

This book sounds very mysterious! The review doesn't give too much away so I'm very curious about this story. I love a book that will keep me guessing and isn't too straight forward and this seems to be just that.

This novel seems very interesting as it touches on three very distinct careers. I would be interested to see how the doctors go about protecting their careers as being sued is a very real concern. One lawsuit and your reputation is in the dust. I will also be interested to see what legal trouble the religious institution got itself into. Congrats on BOTD.

The intersection of medical science, religion and love sounds like an interesting field to talk about, sounds like a rewarding read.

Wow! This seems like a book jam-packed with interesting topics!
The medical and legal fields are so demanding and I can imagine the toll they can take in a marriage. And the religious issue is so deeply controversial and raises so many questions.
I´m really interested in how the marriage develops, as a married woman I´m always interested in what makes some relationships survive and some not.
Intriguing book and great review, thanks!

I had enjoyed William H. Cole's books before, but this read seem like a Fruit Salad to me. Your review was descriptive, and it create an urge in me to know about this book better. Thank you, and I'm definitely looking forward to clear that Fruit Salad up.

I read another book by William H. Coles, but I didn't like it. This one seems more like my type. The characters are complex and interesting. I like that it covers medical, legal, and religious areas.

Thanks for the review. Human relationships are complex. This book I think would touch on relationships and professional differences between the couple Luke and Lucy. This will be in reading list.

The Spirit of Want is the story of family relations and the struggle to maintain a balance between family and profession.
Lucy is a lawyer and handling a televangelist's case soon discovers the reality of the business of religion. Different elements and topics under one story make this novel a little complex.
