Its is really true. You can have a great plot and if your characters are one dimesional and boring so will your book be. Great Review.?

This sounds like an interesting novel. It sounds like the author did a great job in developing his characters since it is so character driven as you mention. Great review and thank you for sharing.

The characters really do make a story. An intriguing plot can only take you so far without character development. Thank you for your thoughts. I'll be adding this book to my list of books to read.

I liked the storyline but found the book a bit confusing at times. The characters got confusing at times as to who was actually doing the speaking. I also found a couple parts of the book to be unnecessary to the plot of the book and didn't understand the meaning of putting those excerpts into the book other than to make it a longer book. Overall, it was okay for me but not my type of book.

Thanks for sharing your review. I'm glad to hear that it is really good. I think it sounds like a great story and that he kept it upbeat with a usually depressing topic. Also glad to see there is only 2 mistakes I have a lot of trouble with reading an already published book and finding over 10 mistakes.

Nice review. The book talks on a great man past his prime. Also talks on the indecision of his friend to react to his mistakes.

Seems like a great novel. You really seem to enjoy the author's work. Human nature can be a puzzling thing. Thank you for your wonderful insight!

An excellent review as always. I have to say I'm confused as to why Mike Boudreaux would hesitate in reporting a doctor who is making mistakes. The Hippocratic oath he took would force him to protect the patients, and the hospital would not want any more lawsuits. Perhaps I'm wrong though as life continually shows us that people are willing to hurt others to get what they want.

Great review! I love a book that has strong characters who can captivate the reader's attention all on their own. Makes for a fascinating read.

This book certainly sounds interesting, particularly the character development, and I love the setting. There's something about the medical field and New Orleans which always seem to go hand-in-hand in intriguing ways. Fortunately--or perhaps sadly--I've grown a thicker skin towards violence in fiction, so that'll hopefully serve me well with this novel. Thank you for the helpful review.
