Nice review! I agree with you: character development is so important! I wouldn't imagine what the book was going to be about by reading the title. It is not so revealing and I like it.
By the way, what do you mean by this sentence: "Mr. Coles manages to fully elaborate the story as well as the characters which is a feat in and of itself." I mean, what does "to be a feat". Sorry for my ignorance, I am not a native speaker.

I just finished reading a different book by the same author, and unfortunately, I did not see this amazing character development that multiple reviewers have commented about. I wonder if it's just the book I chose... anyway, glad you liked this one so much.

A well written review. l previously read a book from the author so I can understand your point of view. His characters were truely well developed in the book i read. So it looks like I have another book I have to read. Thanks for the info.

A book about surgeons coupled with dark themes and a great character development should make a good read. It is good that the author treats the dark theme in a positive way, and manages to find pinpoints of light to boot. Not my cup of tea, but I am glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for the review!
