His delusions of adequacy go throughout the book and make it an entertaining and great read. It is definitely a book for adults only. I think the tone and the character are not for everyone but I personally loved the book and I would love to see a sequel or a spin-off.

This is quite an interesting review. I liked how you described the main character. Somehow I felt the egoist and sexist character would match the person you described so it would, as you said, still make him likable. I think this will be a good read, i would like to see how he narrates about himself but in the third person. This kind of thing is funny when it's done for a sentence or two, I want to see how he pulled it off for the entire book.

This Pomeroy character reminds me of the characters from Fences by August Wilson for some reason. Particularly Gabe, who was constantly singing while he wandered the streets, and was frequently arrested. Gabe was also delusional, as you suggest Pomeroy is.

I am skeptical about reading this book as itsoon sample didn't really appease to me. But the review makes me want to give it a shot. Will include this in my pipeline for now and then will go from there. Thanks!
