:) Being from the Pacific Northwest myself, this sounds like an interesting book. It also explores some of the culture of the Pacific Northwest, such as Native American history. I am impressed that you gave it a four star rating. I have trouble listening to audiobooks also, reading is more exciting for me. Thank you for the thorough review.

Thanks for the review! This was one of the books that I was considering reviewing, but I wouldn't want to listen to it, like you, I prefer to read my books. I'm excited to read the book though, and learn about what happened over those eight days!

As a Native American myself, I always love to see books that can accurately portray native characters and add in the myths and legends of the various tribes. Glad to see this books seems to do a good job of this and I may just have to check it out!

I read the book and also rated it 4 out of 4 stars. The middle where Sarah narrated her grueling story was a challenge to keep up with, but I'm glad I continued on. In hindsight, her recounting was essential to the story's success. I am not so sure I can handle the book as an audiobook, though, especially during the Sarah soliloquy. There are so many characters mentioned and their Indian names (Pretty Face, Weeps a Lot, Woman Too Soon) would have confused me no end, LOL. But now that I have visually read the story, I am curious to hear it, too.

I read the sample of this book and found it intriguing. After reading your review, I'll definitely be adding it to my list of books to read. You mentioned that the end of the book left a lot of unanswered questions. Were these questions that could/would impact the story greatly, or perhaps lead into a second book? Thanks for such a great review!

Ohhhh, I didn't know that audiobook was an option for this book. It really helps us folks who end up getting stuck in traffic during a commute stay sane.

I like how you allude to Sarah's disappearance seeming much longer than eight days in real life...it makes me want to grab the book so I can find out more and the meaning behind your statement.

I read the Kindle free sample of the book, and was interested in hearing that you liked also the audiobook version.

Such an interesting story filled with mistery and adventure. I would like to know how is going to end Sarah's journey with her grandfather and his friends whom she had just known and is a bit sceptic at the beginning.
Your review is great!

It's amazing to see the world through the eyes of children. It's more fun to read with them, too.

I highly recommend this story for those who want to learn more about Native American culture, or who enjoy folklore. Sheldon writes uncommonly well and I've recommended Strong Heart to my book club - I could easily re-read Sarah's story again!

This mysterious story of legend contrasted with science does sound interesting. It's too bad that the ending seemed abrupt, but I am glad you enjoyed the book. Thank you for the great review.
