After reading the review and the sample, I definitely plan to add this book to my to read list. I am interested to see what happens with Darwin. William H. Coles has great character development with detailed story-lines so I know this will be a great read. The fact that the reviewer didn't have anything negative about the book to mention just makes it all the more enticing.

A book that is dealing with different types of relationship. This sounds like a realistic book, one that is not predictable. I'm attracted at the writing of this book and how the author did the story telling.

Your review is interesting, but I'm not sure that you caught the riveting essence of the book, or the preciseness with which the characters are captured "in flight", so to speak. What a gorgeous comedown Dr. Malverne gives that terribly domineering female passenger - it had me rooting for the male protagonists from the first, despite my aspirations to be a woman's libber!

To elaborate on my previous post, I've found that I really don't too much care for Mr. Coles' books, as he tends to write about things I'm not interested in, and this one is no exception. Even though I used to be addicted to "informational periodicals" (like The National Enquirer and The Globe), as I used to call them, and am still somewhat interested in celebrities and their lives, I am not interested in reading about their lives from the inside, even from a newcomer like Darwin. I also don't like coming of age stories or stories that explore family relationships, so thanks but no thanks on this one.

I like how the review consists of simple words which makes it easier to understand. The review itself is interesting enough to make people want to read the book. I especially like the statement "Despite seeing good examples of love when he was younger, he sees poor examples as he grows up."

Do you think this book is mostly for adolescents? I'm not normally a fan of coming of age stories because I feel like I'm a little too old to relate. But if this book also covers his adult years, I might be more interested.

I am 95% complete with this book and do agree there are many complex topics brought up in this story, but also believe it lacks discussion amongst some events that should have been further explored for the reader. My further in-depth review will be coming soon!
