I enjoyed reading your review. I like your comment that the author does a good job of keeping the reader interested even though the book isn't fast paced. I am not sure this book is my cup of tea, but I am glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks bookowlie. I know it's not for everyone.

Abfaniki- Comas are still sort of a mystery that's for sure. Thanks for commenting!

I quite enjoyed this review. Christian fictions hold strong attraction for me, so, I will most likely read this one. The lack of realism in the development of Brody's character is very typical of the often criticized themes of "grace", "favour" and "blessedness" of God which is generally associated with Christian narratives.

Great, honest review! I love how you show both the strong points and the negatives. I do wish that more Christian literature were written more strongly. But as I am not a writer, I will remain a critic and not a solution :D

Latest Review: The Elf Brief by Jordan David

Thanks for the review! Just from reading it I can already tell I would be of two minds about reading the book itself, but that stems more from the probably style of writing rather than any inherent bias against religious fiction as such. Assuming as I do, at this book was written for a targeted audience, -namely the CBA crowd- the lack of overly realistic internal conflict is not a barrier to relating to the character. I've read a couple examples of this kind of book before, and agree that this sounds like a "lazy day curled up by the fire, or the poolside. And yet, I could wish that a message of faith and restoration could be shown and not told within the fiction format. All the same I will give it a shot at some point (at least I can put in on my shelf ), the hook for me being the journal format

Latest Review: You Are A Christian. NOW WHAT? by James Rondinone

Pushing the Christian message is not a downside to me at all. However, the part about the protagonist not experiencing much difficulty seems a bit off putting. I think a lot of us read novels to imagine great tales of people overcoming adversity. Thanks for the insightful review!

I am excited to hear living without obstacles is not realistic or normal. Well that hit me. The idea for me was to pray they never came, and whenever they did spend to long wondering why. Sounds like a nice book to read. Thanks for the review, it was helpful.
