I thought this book sounded interesting, but after reading another book by this author that I didn’t really enjoy, I’m going to pass on this one.

I found your review to be confusing, sorry, but I wasn't really sure what you meant a lot of the time.

I'm also not sure if this is an autobiography or fiction. Your review gives the impression that it's the former but the title suggests the later.

This book seems to delve on human nature and how you reap what you sow in life, as the proverb says. I'm quite intrigued about the ending. I love unexpected endings. Thanks for this nice review!

Great review and thank you for sharing. This does sound like an interesting way to look at the human condition and how we respond to certain events. I am curious to read more about this character, and I am pleased to know that you did not observe any grammatical errors.

It is definitely fiction. However, the writing style is very realistic.
Life without a good book is something MrsCatInTheHat cannot imagine.

This is an interesting read about career and family. A story of McDowell who has conflict relationship with his family almost from the beginning. Must read this book to learn more what to give importance first – money and power or family.

A book that is full of mix emotions most especially guilt. McDowell has a complicated relationship with his family in this story. I would surely read this one. Congrats on this great review.

Great review! I absolutely loved your opening line, that the book is "ripe with just about every emotion known to man." The story sounds really interesting. I like books with strong characters and where you find yourself caring about the characters even when they don't always act honorably. This is a hard thing for an author to achieve, and it sounds like the author managed to do this in the book.

At first glance at the cover, the book gives off a different message. I immediately thought western or a Longmire knock off. Just shows how covers can be deceiving. I definitely like the sound of McDowell's path to redemption. The range of emotions you experienced while reading are exactly the experience I seek with books. Thank you for your insightful review!

This book sounds very intense and emotional. I'm not really looking for anything that involves the level of drama I'm sensing in this novel right now but it's worth keeping on the back burner. Thank you for the thorough review.

McDowell sounds like a person I would dislike a lot. He sounds to abusive and Self centered for me to enjoy reading about.
