I rate Mcdowells book as a 4/4....it is interesting just how far we can go to makinga life with a difference irrigardless of our loved ones, colleagues and loved ones feelings at stake. In expence of happiness, we often become selfish and greed takes over. I love this:for Hiram, but some actions make me question that thought. It is possible for some people that they will always have lives based on the past, no matter what their current conditions are, getting stuck in the past......creates no room for the future. Hiram's family is glad when he is not around,His initial start into marriage life, rings a bell on a number of wuestions. His character is questionable. I love this book, want more of this fiction life transforming and real life addressing books on my shelf. Thank you

MCDOWELL by William Cole is a novel I'm getting attracted to at the moment though this review is really getting my attention as it lays emphasis on it the more, a story about guilt and redemption, will obviously suit crime detecting experts.

Sounds like a complex story with family issues evolving into business issues as the family grows older and starts working together. What I didn't get out of this review was, "Would I enjoy this story?" Was there anything in this story that would I would really pick it this story over another one? I don't know... I guess I'll have to pick it up and see... ;)

I think being in such a situation can degrade one's self esteem. As everyone is looking for redemption, the past is always pulling us backward.

We will obviously make enemies as we pursue money and power because everyone would love to be the one in control. I understand McDowell's predicaments.

Sounds like a tale of how the past can catch up with someone, and how it can affect a family system in complex ways.

I love stories about human nature. I, unfortunately, have experienced a life of tragedy that has certainly colored my future life's path. So it will be interesting how this family fared after tragedy. Thanks for an insightful review!
