Review of A Mingled Yarn
I read "A Mingled Yarn" by Louise Williams and found it to be an exceptionally well-written book without grammar errors. It touches upon various themes like coming of age, family secrets, love, and much more. I give this book a 5 out of 5 rating because I loved it, even though it made me cry. This is a testament to Louise Williams' amazing writing skills. The book is full of vivid descriptions and intricate details that made me love it even more. When I started reading this book, I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it because it's not a genre I normally read. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I found myself becoming emotionally invested in the characters, such as Liza, the Walshes, and the Crosby siblings. Though I didn't like characters like Finn and Peter at first, they grew on me throughout the book. It is in the last half of the book that Finn's character evolves and I start to feel more positively about him. Although this book is a great read, it contains themes of death that some readers may find triggering. This is not a lighthearted book. In the book, some happy moments are worth mentioning. For instance, witnessing Liza's first love with Steve Finn's best friend, the love that the Walsh family shares and Liza's friendship with Sarah are just a few moments that break up all the sorrow. The relationship between Kate and Liza is the sweetest one in the book and I think it's my favorite. In the end, the only character that I never had to change my mind about was Mr Crosby. My feelings towards him remained the same throughout the story. I didn't like him when he was first introduced and my opinion of him didn't change by the end of the story either. This book has a lot to offer, including a major twist that will shock you. Throughout the story, secrets are revealed, and a new love is introduced and pursued. I don't want to give too much away, but I highly recommend this book to anyone who can handle an emotional rollercoaster.
