Title: Cynthia and Dan
Author: Dorothy May Mercer
Rating: 4/5

Cynthia and Dan by Dorothy May Mercer is a compelling fiction novel that delves into the private life of Cynthia, intertwined with a covert cyberwar mission she shares with her brother. The story takes an unexpected turn when a drone incident at the White House leads to Cynthia crossing paths with Sky Eastman, sparking a passionate night that threatens to unravel both her personal and professional life.

The book is meticulously edited, and I didn't notice a single typo or grammatical error, showcasing flawless attention to detail. The writing style is elegant and skillfully captures the intricacies of the characters' interactions, from laughter to grief, making the narrative engaging and relatable.

One aspect I appreciate is the book's thoughtful exploration of the sensitive topic of birth control and abortion. The author handles this complex subject with nuance, offering a knowledgeable and insightful analysis without imposing a biased perspective. This approach adds depth to the storyline and allows readers to navigate the complexities of these issues alongside the characters.

However, the pacing of the narration poses a challenge at times. In certain conversations, the narrative speed feels like a long rope, occasionally causing confusion about who is speaking. As an intelligence operative, Cynthia's competence is called into doubt during some interactions, hindering the overall credibility of the character.

Despite these drawbacks, Cynthia and Dan deserves a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The flawless editing and engaging writing style contribute to an overall great reading experience. The slight pacing issue and occasional lapses in character credibility are the main factors behind deducting one star. This book will particularly appeal to romance enthusiasts and readers interested in computational advances and cyberwarfare, as the novel expertly weaves these elements into its narrative.
