Review of Amazing Faith
Deborah Dennis' "Amazing Faith" is a captivating tale that delves deep into a love story filled with love, loss, failure, tragedy, and triumph. At its heart is the character of Faith Richwood, a beautiful girl raised by loving and devout parents, Albert and Heidi. Her upbringing instilled in her both care and a deep reverence for the Lord.
Faith's life takes a significant turn when she crosses paths with Benny Gene Williams during high school. Benny's family life starkly contrasts with Faith's. His mother has never expressed affection for him and regards him as a hindrance to her ambitions, while his father has fallen victim to substance abuse. Their household is consumed by daily turmoil, conflict, and mistreatment.
When Faith and Benny meet, sparks fly, and they fall head over heels in love. However, Faith's parents strongly disapprove of their relationship. In reaction to the situation, the youthful duo decides to elope and exchange vows in secret, thanks to the assistance of their close friend, Cliff. Interestingly, Cliff holds deep feelings for Faith, but, in a show of respect, he honors her decision.
Following their marriage, Faith experiences the heartbreaking loss of her beloved father due to a cardiac arrest. Simultaneously, she discovers that she is expecting her first child. When Faith eventually confides in her mother about their secret marriage and the pregnancy, her mother warmly welcomes the news with delight. Faith eventually gives birth to three children: Shane Ethan, Joshua, and Amia. Their family enjoys moments of pure happiness, seemingly free from want. Yet, tragedy unexpectedly strikes, turning their world upside down. What this tragedy is and how the family confronts it is a compelling mystery waiting to be unraveled within the pages of the book.
Reading "Amazing Faith" was a moving experience, and I couldn't help but be drawn into the narrative. The book not only delves into the challenges faced by a family but also underscores the transformative power of God's love. I found myself shedding tears at the tragic turns in the family's life. This book stands out as one of the finest I've had the privilege of reading.
The author has skillfully crafted each character to perfection, and the plotline is truly remarkable. The book imparts a sense of resilience in the face of life's hardships. Furthermore, the book's meticulous editing is commendable, as I couldn't spot a single error within its pages. There's nothing to dislike about this remarkable book.
For all the reasons mentioned above, I wholeheartedly grant "Amazing Faith" a resounding 5 out of 5 stars. I eagerly look forward to delving into more of the author's works in the future.
