Review of Eternity

[Following is a volunteer review of "Eternity" by Carlos.]
" Eternity" by Carlos. The style of this book and Carlos' writing is one with which I am relatively unfamiliar, but that is not to say that it was unenjoyable; it was, in fact, a very enjoyable book. I believe it is one of those books that allow you to catch a glimpse of real life, not a fantasy about princes and princesses, not love at first sight, but real emotion, romance, and struggle that you can relate to. It is a piece of writing that requires patience, just like life. You cannot expect amazing, action-packed scenes at every corner. Instead, you have to sit down and flow through it just like you would real life. Much of the book leaves you wondering what to expect, who is connected, and how. Why are these characters here? However, all is answered at the very end, tying the book up in an amazing twist that really brings the story to life. If you are one for real romance and real emotion, this is for you.
The book contained themes that were directed towards an adult audience. It included things such as profanity, alcohol and drug consumption, as well as mentions of sex and nudity. I believe these themes added to the book and its ability to depict relatable and real-life characters. These are definitely themes that the readers may want to be made aware of as some may find issues with them or desire not to read about these things. Although, I do not think this is a problem within the book and believe that these themes add to the book in important ways.
Typos and grammar seem to be minimal and well-edited. The beginning of every chapter has been left uncapitalized, but due to its appearance in every chapter, I believe it to be a stylistic choice, one that is unique and actually quite enjoyable.
Overall, I rate this book a ⅘. The writing is enjoyable and easy to understand. It is not cryptic and is taken in well. The story is amazing, not something that I typically find in books, and something that you can really connect with and understand in a real-world setting. The only thing I found difficult was the pacing of the book. While it does go great with the story, it was something that required patience and not giving up. The slow pacing is an excellent lead-up to the twist of an ending and an amazing part of the story that helps give it that real life feeling.
