I love the sincerity of the review. My first thought was, "Nah, I'll pass", but the in-depth explanation and exploration from your review has actually piqued my interest concerning it. Kudos owlie!

I do enjoy a book with good characters, and this one definitely fits the bill. Sounds like a very compelling story. As you stated, military personnel returning to civilian life is not a new theme for a book. However, it's something that is always worth talking about. Another good review. Thanks!

Well written but a little bit weak looking in execution. I won't be buying a copy today but I can see a lot of people enjoying this one.

As soon as I started on the sample for this book I wanted to carry on reading it, this subject is so close to my heart and your review does it nothing but justice.

Interesting review. This isn't my usual type of book, but I'm that "young military wife." From what it sounds, the author did some excellent research on being stuck in a submarine for long periods of time and the sudden adjustment from military to civilian life.

Another awesome review, @bookowlie! Thank you! I have downloaded my copy. The cover and title drew me in right away, and before knowing what it was even about, I was interested. After reading your review, I'm not 100% sure this is the book for me, but that is only because I do not normally read books of this topic. It may be good to expand my world a bit! :-) I like how the book draws awareness to the types of issues people face on all sides when a loved one decides to dedicate his/her life to the military. The adjustment of going in and coming out is something most people (who are detached from the situation) don't always think about, as much as the actual adjustment of being at war. It sounds like a well-written eye-opener to the realities many people and families face today. Thanks for a great review!

Great Review! Even though this isn't a new topic, it is not discussed enough. Definitely sounds like an interesting read.

The author is a former Navy submariner and he realy nailed the subject matter. The Book showed one guy who was glad to be off the submarine and others who could not waut to go back, something I like very much.

What a great review! I'll check out the book. Found it interesting to see an 'Other Fiction' genre, had to look it up to see what exactly it entailed. Btw The Hurt Locker movie is a great war drama, I think it's from 2008, watched it a while ago. Well worth checking it out as well.

The way you write a review is spectacular. It pulled me directly into the story giving a short synopsis but enough information to know that i would enjoy this read.
