Yes, this sounds like an area I would be interested in exploring through fiction. Although not "true," good fiction is a reflection of real life from someone's perspective. This book sounds true to my ideal of a good story. I know little about military life, or adjusting to civilian life, but have heard many discouraging tales. I would be interested to read more of this.

It's interesting to learn about how soldiers adjust with changes after being deployed. I agree that it might sound strange that some would rather go back than stay and live a normal life. Fantastic review! The writing style that you describe sounds enjoyable. PTSD is not an easy topic to write about or discuss, but from what you say, it sounds as though Durkota tells a story about it eloquently.
