Review of A Pocketful of $20s
In the small town of Deer Park, North Carolina A Pocketful of $20s by Madelaine Lawerence tells the story of ED nursing director Lynn Price who is struggling to maintain a balance of work, family and making a difference in the lives of others.
This holiday season her mother Dorothy has asked her to take on her Christmas tradition of giving $20 to five strangers. At the same time she is re-evaluating her romantic relationship and is taken into a new one. She receives help from her friends a police detective, orthopedic surgeon (who both also happen to be her suitors) as well as a network of doctors, nurses and social workers through work. Lynn helps the $20 recipients make a change to their lives as well as hers in a major way.
The read really has no negatives for this reviewer because it explores consequences and real scenarios. Not leaving a lot of unnecessary fluff. For that reason I give A Pocketful of $20s 5 out of 5 stars.
This book is a light, easy wonderful read for the holidays because it teaches you that giving is still in season and in full swing with heartfelt characters and light yet faced paced dialogue that keeps readers very much engaged.
