Review of Talking to a Praying Mantis
Talking to a Praying Mantis by Francis T. Crowley is a didactic fiction that describes alcoholism, first planted as a habit, then its growth circle and inevitable effects. Alcoholism drives Dennis downhill in his life. A close shave with death leaves an indelible mark in his life. This experience is the crux of this book.
Dennis is a realtor with the prowess of locking business deals as his natural talent, swiftly climbing the ladder of career success. A nagging weakness creates a loophole in Dennis’s life, one which would define the rest of his life.
The idea behind books is to create an avenue to listen to the author, hear what they have to say, understand and possibly relate to the book, and take real-life lessons. With this established, the aim is often defeated if none of these are achieved. The combination of all these qualities in this book gives me an overwhelming chill, satisfaction, and overall love for this literary piece. The author’s keen motive was to drive home the message of “war against negative addictions,” and this was beautifully achieved.
Combining all available literary mastery and communicating the end message deep into our subconscious are the core features of this book. Another one I can’t keep quiet on was how the author changed the stereotypical narrative of fictional books like this from “The beginning of the marital crisis in Dennis and Linda’s marriage and the never coming back together and the already registered enmity that we all know” to “The divorce, Dennis’s rehabilitation, and the reunion.” This alone gives a different effect on readers, especially readers like me.
It appears that the satisfaction provided in the lines of the pages and chapters of this book surpasses without sentiment, every form of a negative point from my end. The book leaves you preoccupied with being better and almost gives no room to find something wrong therein. In other words, I have no negative issues to mention against this book.
Literary works leave different effects on different readers, but out of 20 readers, more than half the number would share in the satisfactory response after going through this. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars for being so timely and helpful. It appears professionally edited, as it has a few errors. I recommend this book to fictional lovers seeking a new narrative on fiction, everyone battling a negative addiction and seeking an invisible nudge to seek help.

I see what you mean. It sounds like Dennis' addiction story had a happy ending when he reunited with his wife.Another one I can’t keep quiet on was how the author changed the stereotypical narrative of fictional books like this from “The beginning of the marital crisis in Dennis and Linda’s marriage and the never coming back together and the already registered enmity that we all know” to “The divorce, Dennis’s rehabilitation, and the reunion.”

It's however from the review a great way to put it out there what was an addiction in the form in of a novel.
A self-help I'm the time of need.
