Lucky by Spare Time Novels is an interesting story written from the perspective of a man who escaped prison. John Woods was serving time for the arson he committed. After serving ten years, they decided to transfer him to a different facility. This new facility was bland, but it didn't bother John Woods. One day, there was a miraculous occurrence. Someone accidentally opened the cells and John escaped. Running from his cell, he decided to arm himself with one of the dead guard's guns. Exiting from the front would prove to be a challenge, so he decided to take the roof. As luck would have it, there was a chopper on the roof, and John Woods successfully hid inside. These men became his new crew, and enjoying his freedom, he started making a living by robbing with the crew. Will John Woods be recaptured?

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. John Woods was an interesting and quite comical character. With all the bad things happening to him, he seemed unfazed and found the humor in each situation. When he was escaping from prison and accidentally ran into the cops, his response was, "Oh well. I have been free for a few seconds." His humor was what made the story interesting and a fun read. The book was also very detailed and descriptive. I could imagine all the things the protagonist was experiencing.

I honestly could not find anything to dislike about the book. The way John Woods interacted with everyone was hilarious at times. After reading the book, I felt like I knew him personally. I must commend the author on how well this character was written and developed. The plot moved quickly, but I did not feel like I missed anything important.

I will give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. It was professionally edited with only a few errors. I gave it a perfect score because I did not find anything negative about this book. It was a quick read with a simple writing style. There was also romance embedded in this book as John Woods fell in love with different women.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes reading short stories. This book contained only a few chapters but was quite impactful. John Woods' story is one of intrigue. I would also recommend this book to people who like reading about a life of crime.
