Review of Three loves and other stories
Life is like a roller coaster ride. It has ups and downs, twists and turns, that one has to go through. Keeping this as a focus, the author Lata Gullapalli has written a fictional book called Three Loves and Other Stories. This book draws attention to the foundational factors of relationships like love, respect, kindness, and confidence.
This book is a collection of seven different short stories that highlight the lives of people living in this modern era. With every story, the author has tried to portray different emotions and struggles that a man has to go through every day to find happiness and live a peaceful life. She has also shown a few perspectives to deal with the regular situations that come up in daily life. Here, she covers the stories of gender disparity, the life of a young married couple, disease, hope, liberation, success, etc. The best part is that the author has used simple language that helps everyone understand. So if you are interested in getting a different perspective on life, then you must read this book.
The biggest appeal to me is that the author has written this impeccable book despite being predominantly from a finance background (she is an investment banker). These stories are based on the people of the Indian subcontinent, but they can also be generalized to folks all over the globe, which is great. I liked all the verses that the author has included at the beginning of every chapter. They enhanced the essence of the stories. One of my favorite stories is “Magic.” The pure love and passion between a young married couple has been beautifully portrayed in that. I also like the story called “Soul Energy.” The power of a man’s soul, energy, meditation, and gratitude has been very well described in that story. I highly appreciate the fact that the author has focused on many important situations and emotions that people go through in their day-to-day lives and also has given solutions for it.
Overall, I had a great time reading this book. There is nothing that I disliked about it. This book seems well edited as I did not find any errors while reading. With that being said, I rate Three Loves and Other Stories4 out of 4 stars. I have no reason to rate this any lower.
I highly recommend this book to people who enjoy reading fiction that is based on the reality of modern society. This book might not be suitable for people who do not like stories that have lots of emotions and drama in them.
