Surviving means you go through hard and discouraged moments in life before you see the light at the end of the tunnel. Being an actor isn't easy, even though it's a career by itself. We choose a career because maybe we have passion or talent in it. We should not be forced to take a career we feel we don't like, especially some parents who force some career. Marnie being the main character in this novel chooses acting as a career even though before getting to be a star she and her friends go though tough times. They meet up with four other friends from the college and Form a group called group of five. They try to make sure that they all succeed in life. They occasionally meet and come up with ideas on how to sell their group name to the famous actors but they don't succeed. On the process one of the group member Lorraine gives up and poison herself. But as they remain four of them, they build up together the group and console themselves that they won't give up because the believe in themselves. Donnie didn't have support from his parents and found Marnie and she was ready to support him get into acting. After ten years of struggling and dedication they all succeed and get paid well for their career, which was unbelievable for them.

(I)(/I) surviving life as an actor is a delightful young adult and adult novel. I loved how Marnie was friendly to everyone and had a helping hand to anyone in need. She supports Donnie in getting into acting career also together with her friends found a solution to save Donnie's life. They would meet and discuss how they are progressing and solve how they will succeed. I loved reading every single word in this book.

I adored the illustrations of each chapter in this book. Audiences aged between 14-40yrs and above will really love this book. I didn't anything bad in this book because it's well defined therefore I give this book (b)(/b)4 out of 4 stars.

I would highly recommend this book to young adults and adults who thought that they choose wrong career in their lives. It's a very encouraging book especially to youth.
