Randy Love considers himself smart and good-looking, a complete ladies’ man. Randy is in his early twenties and believes that life should be lived to the fullest. His interpretation of this is to have regular drinks with his friends, sleep with as many women as possible, have jobs that do not require him to work too hard or that may otherwise interfere with his happy-go-lucky lifestyle, and just enjoy life.

Never fully committing to any relationship, Randy is always looking for handouts and any means where he can get out of spending his own money. However, he soon discovers that this lifestyle may not be all that it seems as he finds himself in many situations of being penny-wise and pound-foolish. He also begins to wonder if a lifestyle change is needed as loneliness starts to set in on him. Find out more about Randy’s adventures and his hilarious journey of self-discovery in Randy the Irresistible by S M Goodier.

This book was a light and fun read. I really loved the author’s use of dry humour and witty banter, and I found myself bursting into hearty laughter at Randy’s antics. Randy has a lot of potential but lacks the right motivation. It was fun seeing life through the eyes of a young English person. I also loved how close Randy was with his family and friends. His father and siblings could always be counted upon to give Randy some tough love when needed (which was most of the time), but they still always had his back whenever necessary. As the book progresses, we see that Randy is actually quite smart and intelligent but just can’t bring himself to care enough to put in either the time or the effort.

There was nothing to hate about Randy the Irresistible. At the end of the book, the author included a glossary of British words for ease of reference. The writing was so well-done that even the author’s explanations in the glossary made me laugh. There were no typographical errors, which means it was well edited. For these reasons, I’m pleased to give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.

If you’re looking for a bit of light reading with some humour, then this book is a perfect fit for you. However, it includes a lot of profanities and vulgar language that may not be suitable for some readers.
