Review of The Two Seeings
Do you believe in reincarnation? I've always found the subject of reincarnation fascinating. I won't say I believe in it, but sometimes I'm left wondering what could be the reason behind a feeling of Deja Vu. You know that moment you feel like you've experienced something before, and you feel like you can predict what happens next. The Two Seeings by Jacqueline Smith is a fiction novel that tells tales of reincarnation, spiritual practices, clairvoyance, etc.
Morag MacAulay is an aromatherapist with two daughters, Jane and Paula. She had a diamond-shaped birthmark on her neck and thought nothing about it. Her interest in Buddhism started in her late teens. While examining a "Bodhi Leaf" with a magnifying glass, she had some recollection of a remembrance of a past life. Morag began to learn several things concerning reincarnation, clairvoyance, spiritual powers, and more. Together with people like Enrique and Mhairi, she set out to uncover details of her past lives and follow instructions from the past to accomplish what her past lives couldn't and also to learn from the mistakes they made. Grab a copy of this book to find out the thrilling stories of Morag's past lives and her journey towards the spiritual path.
I enjoyed reading this book. The stories of Morag's past lives were fascinating and had cultural significance. In Gita's story, I was able to get an idea of the cultural practices of the ancient civilization of the Indus Valley. Sige's story expanded my knowledge of the Spanish inquisitions, and Jacques' story portrayed the German invasion of France. What I loved most about the book were the descriptions. The author described details stylistically and vividly. It was almost as if I was standing in the past and observing everything that was going on. The book was also arranged properly. The way the events were structured was perfect and aided easy comprehension. The transition from Morag's present story to the first, second, and third chronicle was well-paced.
The only thing I disliked about the book was the ending. I felt it was kind of anticlimactic. The book was very thrilling, and I was hoping for a kind of reckoning at the ending. Nevertheless, I enjoyed every other aspect of the book. The characters were well-developed. The language used in the book was simple. A character I loved was Maggie. She had a great sense of humor and didn't get bothered easily even when she knew she had Multiple Sclerosis. The storyline was compelling and enlightening. I was fascinated by the concepts of clairvoyance, destiny, black magic, etc. The book also had action and the elements of surprise and suspense.
The book was professionally edited. I came across a few errors that didn't distract me from reading or hinder my comprehension. But, another round of editing would be enough to make it perfect. I loved the author's writing style. It was unique and engaging. I'm therefore rating this book 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this book to lovers of speculative fiction and those interested in stories of reincarnations and spiritual journeys.
