I am with you on this one Grace.
The only thing that raises expectations is the title as it says EMP Honeymoon and we dont get to see any romance happening in the book.

I wont say this book is a romance book. I think it was more of a fast-paced action story than a romance book. For relationships, I think it was just that with the team.

I will go with this.

This book is more of action and suspense with little or almost romance. Personally, i don't think this book falls into the romance genre.

Non-existent.
They were on a beautiful beach in the Caribbean, yet the only romantic thing about this book is the title.

I will never approve of this book as a romance book. This book will go well as an action packed and suspense filled book.

There was no romance nor fire in Tom and kelly's relationship so therefore, so I believe it to be a suspense/action novel.

Tom and Kelly's relationship did not give me so much vibe. I love the relation between Kelly and her brother. And i think if Steve and Su-jin had gotten into a relationship it could have gotten the story more interesting.

My assessment is the book tackles more on the relationship towards their team than with a romance. I like the way the author presented the bond between the newlyweds in the book. It is up to the reader to think that the couples romantic life is already sugarcoated with the word 'honeymoon.'

Reynaa wrote: 01 Dec 2019, 14:50 I agree, Tom and Kelly's relationship seemed a bit flat. I think there is just too much going on with the rest of the story so their relationship isn't well developed.

I liked Sharon and Steve's relationship, there wasn't much to it but that makes more sense because it was a new relationship. I love their banter and wit, though.
I think even with the rest of the story, the romance could've worked. If the two had been more affectionate then it may have worked. Kelly and Tom don't seem like a real couple, especially one on their honeymoon or in danger. So no, I don't think this is classified as a romance. The other characters aren't really romantic much. Not enough.

The romance and the relationships in this book were unique. I think that the author did a great job in mixing the both to the perfect taste of the readers. Some went overboard though, but it was just enough.

I like how the author kept it in the storyline because there was a threat at hand .
