ARA Review by Lucy Appadoo of In It Together

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All is a well-weaved book that discusses spirituality in a range of life struggles.

The book outlines how we have two selves; a false self, which is how we present ourselves to the world, and our true self, which is our soul or spirit - consciousness, showing us realistically who we are from within. It reinforces the spiritual philosophy by stating the message with a range of life scenarios. It is evident that the author has researched and practised the topic amazingly well.

The Author discusses a multitude of topics, including the goodness and shadow side within us all, how we cannot attach to objects or people due to impermanence, the unbelievable suffering in the world, how we cannot help others due to our incapacity to help ourselves, conflicts between temptation and spiritual purpose, taking out the language of 'shoulds' and 'oughts', and loving ourselves and life, with a gratitude for all things.

Generally, the book covers many aspects of spirituality and life struggles. I give it a 4 out of 5 rating instead of a 5 out of 5 rating as I found the book repetitive and a bit lengthy, but overall it is an inspirational and educational book. The text was well-written and explained the spiritual philosophies articulately.

The text provided a visual sense of how to live life in the best way possible so that we can live with acceptance, love, the capacity to help others and ourselves, and to let go of that which no longer serves us.
