Reading Goal Challenge: 2017

Post by Gravy »

Another year, another set of goals!
Done separately, it would take twenty six books to complete this challenge, so I will most definitely not be doing one book/one goal
But I tip my hat to anyone who takes it on :tiphat:

These are the goals this year:
  • Read a book for each of these genres
    1. Non-Fiction,
    2. Crime or Thriller or Mystery or Horror,
    3. Romance,
    4. Sci-Fi or Fantasy,
    5. Drama or Poetry,
    6. Historical,
    7. Graphic Novel,
    8. Young Adult,
    9. and Children's
    .
  • Read a Banned Book.
  • Read an Anthology.
  • Read a book published 100 years (or more) before you were born.
  • Read a book that is 500 (or more) pages.
  • Read a Retelling or Reimagining of a classic.
  • Give a DNF a second chance, or re-read a favorite.
  • Read a book you first heard about on this site.
  • Catch up with at least one series.
  • Start at least one series.
  • Read one of the earliest books added to your "to-read" list.
  • Read a book with a non-human protagonist.
  • Read one book that's being adapted to film this year.
  • Read one book by a debut author.
  • Read a book that takes place during a holiday (any holiday).
  • Read a book set in a country foreign to yours.
  • Read a book with multiple POV's.
  • Read a book that contains another story in some way.
Have fun reading! :reading-2:

My goal for reading this year is: to read at least one book every month (maybe two). Write a review about it and post it on various platforms. I'm going to stick with reading obscure books or ones that no one has heard about because that served me well last year.

I think it is a "did not finish" book. Life is too short to finish a bad book

This challenge is definitely attainable. I already satisfied 2 goals today by reading the January BOTM, We are the Ants. When I read the Nightlord sequels, that will knock out another couple goals.

My personal 2017 goal is 150 books.
