No, I think the book was too much about McDowell and too little about anything else and also most of the progress in the story was emotional which can be understood only in words as it goes in one's mind. To aptly describe these kind of emotions in a movie will be too much to ask.

It’s definitely had some good visual moments and the characters would be awesome on screen. I think it would work better as a TV series though idk why, that’s just the vibe I get

I think it will be great to see this book turn into a movie, but I'm afraid directors won't be able to give justice to the character. Every screenplay is not as satisfying as our imagination. Some audience will be glad while others will criticize it. But if this book gets in good hand, I would gladly watch it.

I have to wonder if the dicey movement of the timeline would be easier to follow in a movie. I agree with a previous post regarding lack of content leading to a rather boring movie throughout most of the story.
