No, I think the book was too much about McDowell and too little about anything else and also most of the progress in the story was emotional which can be understood only in words as it goes in one's mind. To aptly describe these kind of emotions in a movie will be too much to ask.

It’s definitely had some good visual moments and the characters would be awesome on screen. I think it would work better as a TV series though idk why, that’s just the vibe I get

I think it will be great to see this book turn into a movie, but I'm afraid directors won't be able to give justice to the character. Every screenplay is not as satisfying as our imagination. Some audience will be glad while others will criticize it. But if this book gets in good hand, I would gladly watch it.

I have to wonder if the dicey movement of the timeline would be easier to follow in a movie. I agree with a previous post regarding lack of content leading to a rather boring movie throughout most of the story.

Yeah. I think it would be a great movie. The movie would add some glamour to the story of Hiram. I think Viggo Mortensen would be perfect Hiram😀

I think it would make a good movie. It has an interesting and twisted storyline you'd enjoy watching. Since I didn't like the excessive descriptions in the book, I'm sure I'd enjoy watching the movie than reading the book.

I think it might turn out to be a great movie if there are enough inclusions to make it more interesting.

I finished reading McDowell 2 days ago, and I think it would be a good film with the right actors. But when Hollywood makes movies they always leave things out, or change something that makes the book better. Maybe, it would be a good movie, but for those of us that read the book, it will be better. :) :) That's my two cents. :D :D

I am currently reading this book for a review. And I think so far, it would be a great movie with the right cast and directors.

I like watching movies that are abridged from books, but it really depends on the director and crew members that work upon it to make it a successful film. Even if the book is a worldwide sensation, it doesn't mean the film would follow the same fate. I would like to see McDowell become a movie because it has a really nice plot and intriguing characters. -R

I think it would be good as a two part series with the second part starting when he goes on the run.

The plot is rich with all the capabilities to be formed into an awesome movie. There is no any single part to be omitted. So I totally agree with your question.

I don't know. A lot of parts were about thoughts and feelings or motivation behind certain behaviours and I think this could be difficult to convey in a film

I think this would be an interesting story to put on screen. It has intrigue, lively and broken characters, adventure, great location options and more.

I think it would make a great movie. There are so many different side stories and characters to McDowell. Yes, it is the story of one man; however, there are many angles that could be brought to light within the movie. The different landscapes and locations would also make a certain appeal. There is the foundation hospital in Nepal, along with the mountain-climbing aspect. There are also the parts of the story in Wyoming and Montana, the California coast, New Orleans, Chicago and more. With the right director and the right Hollywood actors, it could be a big hit.
