After thinking about it a bit, I don't believe I'd read the second book. I have a big hangup with Vala being left behind in the Roman camp. As was noted in the book, Romans did not treat women very well.

Even though it's not what I usually read, I would give a shot to the second one. Why not?

I'm definitely interested in the second book. Already pre-ordered it.

I definitely want to read the second book. I am almost finished with this book now and I have already been thinking about where to get the second book. I did not know it was not out yet. Does anyone know when exactly it will be coming out?

I'll not read it because it is full of chaos. In addition it is thrill to chase readers attention.

In this instance I did. I started with the second book and decided to stop and complete the first one then continue just to get a better overall picture. I also noticed that many of the series created by great authors will keep you coming back.

Yes of course! I really enjoy the first book and I wouldn't hesitate to read the second book. I'm curious on what will happen to Catrin when the king declared her to be treason and Marcellus' fate in Rome, and whether or not there is a possibility for them to be together again.

I’d love to. Will read the reviews first and if they are good then I will read the book.

I wasn't sure if I would, but after getting a taste of the story (included at the end of book one), I know I'll eventually read book two. There are some good twists right away!

But don't you want to find out what happens to Vala? That is one of the only reasons I would consider picking up another book in this series. I have so many scenarios running through my head about her time in the camp.

To be honest, I found your comment a bit strange. I remember only two things about Vala - she was the oldest daughter and was considered unattractive. She was barely in the book, so I'd be more interested in what happens with Mor because she was a lot more established as a character.

For me it is the total mystery about her. We know so much about Mor and what is happening with her. By the end of the book, Mor essentially gets her happy ending, but what of poor Vala? There seemed to be some foreshadowing with her, and I think her disappearance makes her a more mysterious character. She is the only family member we stop hearing about after the initial chapters and I think this sets her apart a bit.
