Wasn't freedom the most important thing there is in a country? Many fought for it.

Freedom was the overall theme. I thought it was funny that the half-human, half-robot was supposed to choose what he wants to do. Clearly, he's literally not wired that way. I think he wanted Kelly to have freedom, too. That's why he took her. Alas, it wasn't meant to be for her.

Freedom plays an important role and the book is very good.

In a dystopian future where everything is excessively controlled, freedom, no matter how small, comes at a premium. Agent Silver and Rex's independence seems like reality to them, but it isn't true freedom until one can freely enjoy it.

I believe so. The novel centers around freedom. Franklin, Rex, Sliver, and Kelly all experience some type of freedom throughout the novel and it seems to help each one grow.
